Needed USB Flexible Hub

I got the bright idea Wednesday morning to start up the webcam on this “new” computer. I had not needed it. I just wanted to start something up for an article that I am doing on robots. I thought finding a use for a piece of the computer would make for a good article.

First I had to find the software. The computer did not come with instructions in 1,2,3 order. Then I started the load. It messed up. I had to uninstall and reinstall. That worked. The webcam click looked right and had options.

One problem existed. It was not picking up me in front of the computer. The message said “no webcam”. I began to work further. I found the user manuals online and read them. I went back over the connection for the monitor.

Finally I contacted support. After some time and going to the supervisor, the problem was found. There was another cable that had to attach. The instructions were not 1,2,3 again. It had simply been a drawing and I missed adding one cable.

Now I had a new problem. I was out of USB ports in the back and had to use one in the front. It came up fine. I did not know I looked so bad on the monitor. I will have to work on that.

Anyway, I unplugged it and got the blue screen. The computer restarted fine. Since I did not want to have only one USB port left, I decided to buy a flexible hub.

On Thursday morning I bought the hub. I moved the keyboard and mouse to it. Then I plugged it in where the keyboard had been. I plugged the webcam in where the mouse plug had been. Then I started up the computer.

After all of the devices installed so the computer knows where everything is, it all worked. I am now changing my article to more of why my generation does not use all of the functions. I have plenty of material.
