Cloud Computing One Does Not Fit All

I have been studying cloud computing for several months. One thing I have learned is that one way does not fit every industry. It also does not fit every company. Several items must be considered.

First how secure does the data have to be? Do you need to know the server that your data is on? Does it need to use a landline or will wireless connection work? What is the speed of the connection? What happens if it goes down?

What about backups? Do you need to make those or does the cloud provider handle this? Again the same questions as above come back up.

Last week one paper reported that the FBI walked into a cloud provider and took a server. They were taking the data that is associated with one company. Other companies were on the server. They were down for some time. Just something to think about.

Do you want all of your data on the cloud? Maybe some data needs to stay at the facility. Maybe it needs to interface with data on one or multiple clouds.

I was watching clouds the other day while I was at the pool. I noticed how they changed shapes. This is how the cloud is to work and within a provider it appears to work fine. However, watch clouds. They also come together. They tear apart to become multiple clouds. Maybe this is also how cloud computing is to work.
